Through the years, Gorsley Baptist Church has had at least three houses for ministers to live in.

The first house, next to the church field, was occupied by Rev Ashton's family from 1881-1899 , followed by Rev Cross family and Rev Cox family.  From 1926 to 1953 there were no children living there, then the Stapleton family took up residence.  Mark and Nigel had been brought up in Birmingham.  They were intrigued to discover a stable on the property and often played there.
