World Book Day 2025

For World Book Day, we spent some time listening to and reading stories about being different. This included watching all the teachers perform 'Along Came a Different' to start the day off. Then we read 'Giraffes Can't Dance' and 'The Squirrels that Squabbled'. We discussed why it is good to be different and how our differences make us interesting and unique.

We then took part in the Live Lesson at 11am, where we took part in some activities to learn about fiction and non fiction books. We also completed a Live Read, joining in with hundreds of schools around the country all reading at the same time.

We also studied some famous illustrators and looked at the work of Quentin Blake. We all tried to imitate his work by drawing and painting pictures of Willy Wonka, Oompa Loompas and Mr Twit.

Finally, we worked with children from Kempley and Lynders to share our books and discuss what we enjoyed about them. It was a fantastic day and we all had a great time.
