Uniform Information

School Uniform

We have school uniform to develop a sense of pride in belonging to a recognisable body and for social reasons. Our current parents give full support.

Government guidelines advise schools that they can make no more than three branded items (school logo) of uniform or PE kit compulsory for pupils.  Therefore, we provide parents the option to choose non branded items for some of our uniform.  Please see retail providers at the bottom of this page

All items of clothing must be labelled with your child’s name. Jewellery must not be worn to school at all. For reasons of safety, children are not allowed to wear ring type sleeper earrings. Whilst plain studs are acceptable, they must be removed for any physical activity.

  • Maroon sweatshirt /cardigan with the School logo.
  • White blouse or white ‘aertex’ short-sleeve shirt with School logo where possible.
  • Grey skirt, shorts or trousers.
  • White or grey socks or black, maroon or grey tights.
  • Black shoes (no boots or sandals).
  • Summer option – red and white checked dress
Clothing Required for Physical Education

All items must be clearly name labelled and kept in a drawstring type bag that can be hung on your child’s cloakroom peg. For safety, children will remove watches and tie back long hair. Watches taken off for the purpose of P.E lessons remain the responsibility of the individual pupil.

  • Indoor PE Lessons T-shirt – short-sleeved in white with or without school logo.   Shorts – plain, in burgundy. For indoor PE children will require plimsolls/daps or clean indoor trainers for KS2 (Acorns will not need this in the first term).
  • Outdoor PE Lessons T-shirt and shorts as above and socks. Footwear for Infants and Juniors– trainers Ordinary shoes are not appropriate footwear for sports. Black, grey or navy track suits, school sweat shirt/hoodie or similar for cold weather.

Non-school uniform guidance

Parents are informed in advance of non-school uniform days.   Normally guidance will be given as to what the children need to wear e.g. a colour for a charity, dressing up

Children are allowed to wear their school uniform on these days if they wish.

We would ask parents to avoid the following:

  • Open toed shoes or flip flops
  • Shoes that are not suitable for playtimes e.g. high heeled shoes
  • No necklaces or earrings (apart from the normal allowed studs)
  • Make up or nail varnish
  • Extreme hairstyles (unless informed for a charity)
  • Beach type wear e.g. very short shorts, short vest top style clothing

Thank you for your support with this as it helps with the normal running of the school day.
