Health and Medical Information

Parents are requested not to send their children to school if they are unwell and to keep them at home for 48 hours after being sick or having diarrhoea.

If a child becomes unwell during the school day we will contact parents to arrange collection wherever possible.

School staff are advised not to administer medicines unless prescribed by a doctor and is required 4 times per day.  Any prescribed medication that is required 3 times per day should be administered by parents in the morning, at home time and later in the evening.

We know that some children are affected by chronic illness or long term complaints such as asthma, diabetes or epilepsy.  In such cases parents are requested to fill in relevant medical advice forms available at the school office or on our website below.   All medicines in the smallest practical amount are delivered by the parent to the school office in clearly labelled containers.  We recognise that some children have learnt to administer their own medication.  A request form is available for parents to complete (see below) and the medicine is kept secure in a central part of the school.  The child is supervised whilst he or she administers the medication.

It is very important to inform the school of any changes to emergency contact numbers.
