Brilliant Blood

In a science lesson we learnt about our blood. In order to learn about the different components in our blood, we made blood using everyday items.

Hoops and red dye were used to create red blood cells which carry oxygen around our bodies. Water, salt and yellow food dye were used to create plasma which carries nutrients. Marshmallows were used to represent the white blood cells in our blood which act like protectors and guard our blood from germs. Finally, we used pom poms to represent the platelets which help our blood to clot.
