Uganda link school

We had four special visitors to their Uganda Link assembly today.

In October, 62 KS2 children enjoyed a sleepover at school, between them they raised £510 to help fund their link school, St Michael’s School in Namutumba.  Mr Gareth Hughes, who is part of the Ross-on-Wye link team, came to the assembly to receive the money raised on behalf of the St Michael’s, in fact he is going to Namutumba next week so will present the money to the school.

In addition, they were also able to donate some football shirts. Many Gorsley pupils are members of Ross Juniors, which has just acquired a new strip.  Mr Paul Flitney, the Ross Juniors’ coach, kindly suggested the old kit to be taken to Namutumba, by John Kyrle High School 6th formers next July.  We are very grateful to Emma and Sarah (former pupils from Gorsley) for being willing to carry the shirts and distribute them appropriately.
