Trip to Bristol Zoo
We kickstarted our new topic with a trip to Bristol Zoo. In the morning we took part in a workshop all about minibeast sense and defences. We were lucky enough to be able to hold a cockroach (if we were brave enough!) and we also got to stroke a millipede and a stick insect.
We then got to explore the rest of the zoo, starting with the very cute penguins... although the smell was a little off putting! After that we made a trip through bug world, looking at many minibeasts from all over the planet.
After lunch we went back to Bug World to decide which minibeast we were going to focus our follow work on... check back soon to see what we’ve done!
For the final hour we took a super speedy tour around the rest of the zoo. Some of our favourites were the gorillas, the pandas and the reptile house.
Overall we had a fantastic day out and it was a great way to start our new term!
