The International Centre for Birds of Prey
Kempley had an amazing visit to the International Centre for Birds of Prey in Newent as part of their work on the story of “The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark”. They enjoyed an interesting and informative tour with expert bird handler, Pip. She showed the children their favourite owls and introduced them to other varieties. Afterwards we watched a flying demonstration where we saw Pan, a gorgeous barn owl, swoop over our heads. Pip then gave the children an opportunity to fly either an owl or a kestrel. This was really exciting and the class were thrilled! We all had a wonderful day in the sunshine and are extremely thankful to the brilliant staff from the centre.
